A new game has been linked to quite a bit lately and I just came across it. The game is called “Hero On The Hudson”. It is a simple little flash game where you try to land the plane safely in the Hudson River. It’s very straightforward and pretty inoffensive really. You just use the left or right arrow keys to try and stabilize the plane as it comes crashing into the bay. It doesn’t show any people or anything like that, just a plane crashing.
Compared to a lot of flash games this one is quite tame, which I think shows at least some degree of taste. Of course, this game is causing some degree of controversy, which is somewhat understandable. I think the real bottom line of this game is that it’s somewhat fun and will spark some interest from the media, but there just isn’t much to it and once you play the game once or twice you’ll probably want to stop.

Last year, Batman returned to the big screen in a huge way. The latest movie The Dark Knight was a box office smash success that broke all kinds of records and is far and away the most successful movie of the last decade. This of course has renewed interest in the coolest superhero of all time: Batman. Once again, Batman toys, games and anything with a cape and cowl on is a must buy item.
Batman Dark Knight toys are very popular, even if the movie isn’t the most child-friendly. This last Halloween, Joker costumes were the most popular costumer you’d see. I think they probably sold out of Joker costumes in many stores. I’m more of a fan of how cool Batman was in the latest movie, but to each his own. Here’s a list of some very cool Batman toys, even some toys from The Dark Knight.
Lego Batman
Lego Batman is an extension of the extremely popular Lego Star Wars video game series. The idea of playing with Legos is fun for everyone, and videogames acting out movie scenes using Lego characters are very popular right now. Lego Batman was made for pretty much every system available. You can buy it on PC, Nintendo DS, PS2, PS3, PSP, XBox 360, and Nintendo Wii. There’s even a strategy guide available.
Also, if you haven’t bought a Playstation 2 yet, there is a special edition bundle of the PS2 available that includes a slim PS2, Lego Batman, and a Justice League DVD. The PS2 is a fantastic system and this bundle is a pretty good buy
Large Batman Dark Knight Batarangs
Now this is a cool toy that you need to be careful with. One of Batman’s signature gadgets are batarangs. He uses them as throwing stars to dispatch his foes. Now you can get a pair of Batman batarangs too.
They aren’t too expensive and they look like the real thing. Of course, I’m sure they’re made of some kind of plastic. The edges are rounded off for safety, but you still should be careful to not throw them at someone’s face or head. You don’t want to poke someone in the eye. Always make sure that you are safe when playing with batarangs, they’re toys, but they can be dangerous.
Batman Dark Knight Joker Bobble Head Statue
This toy sits firmly between creepy and awesome. This is an 8 inch tall Joker bobblehead doll. It is hand-painted and looks disturbingly like Heath Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Of course like all bobble head dolls, you can make that had bounce up and down, which looks even more menacing being the Joker. This makes a fantastic gift for anyone who love the movie, or who loves the Joker. At around $15, this is a no brainer.
