Norton Internet Security 2009 improves in almost every useful area that it could have improved on from previous versions. In the past, Norton was known for offering great protection, but it almost always slow and bloated. Most people would try to uninstall it and would not have much luck doing so. The 2009 version of Norton Internet Security is a huge improvment. Norton Internet Security 2009 is faster, uses fewer system resources, and offers a very easy install/uninstall procedure that doesn’t require a nework administration degree to use. All in all the 2009 version has been a fantastic upgrade for Norton Internet Security. The best new feature is likely going to be the pulse updates. Every 15 minutes the software pings the main server for updates. That means you get up to the minute security updates to your machine. That’s the kind of peace of mind you need in this modern digital age of viruses and spyware. Of course, Norton Internet Security 2009 doesn’t just cover your main computer. You can instal it on up to 3 PC’s with just one copy of the software. That means your main computer, laptop, and a second laptop all can be covered by one purchase of Noton Internet Security 2009. That’s right, your whole family of machines will be covered. |

Actual Customer Feedback: "So far so good. I bought this product based on other reviews and all said it was the best out of the lot." -Customer Review on Amazon.com "Well, so far so good... I've had a 'bad taste' in my mouth about all things Norton since the mid to late '90's, and have never tried them since, until the purchase of this product today. I have to say, I'm very pleased at the install ease and 'seemed' protection I'm receiving. I've had CA, & CounterSpy recently, they were 'ok', but it seemed that my CounterSpy had been freezing up my pc on an almost daily basis, I can't swear that it was CounterSpy, but I have since uninstalled it before installing my new Norton Internet Security 2009, and I've had no freeze ups yet, in fact my pc is running considerably faster after the NIS install... As long as it works this good for the life of my computer and yearly $50 updates, I'm happy..." -Customer Review on Amazon.com "This is the best price I've found for NIS Security 2009. It is user-friendly to me, maybe because I have used NIS for a number of years. Some type of security software is IMPERATIVE!" -Customer Review on Amazon.com "I made the switch from security center to Norton. Glad I did. Installed with no problems. The updates and quick scans run so efficently and with low drain, I had to open the product a few times make sure it was working! Recommended." -Customer Review on Amazon.com "This is a good package. It was easy to install and doesn't use as much of the computer's resources as some other security programs I have used. " -Customer Review on Amazon.com Looking at the customer reviews, it's immediately clear that Norton Internet Security 2009 is a fantastic product and is much improved over its previous versions. Now that the product focus has shifted to speed and efficiency, it is no longer going to bog down your system, giving you both speed and security in one package. Norton Internet Security 2009 is what modern security software should be. |

Due to dissatisfaction with their service, I just deleted Norton Internet Security from my laptop after using it for about two years. While I do believe NIS prevented some problems during that time, I recently became “infected” with “Windows PC Defender” which is a trojan horse that causes much aggravation. (You can Google it to see for yourself.) When I contacted Norton support to see why this had gotten past Norton and to see what I needed to do to eliminate the problem, I was told they could fix it but it would cost either $99 or $139 depending on the level of “service” I wanted. It didn’t seem to matter when I pointed out that I had been a loyal paying customer, expecting service that should not have allowed this “infection.” I refused to pay to get service I thought I had already been paying for. I promptly deleted Norton and replaced it with another program that I have been happy with on other computers I use. I kept a copy of the customer service dialog with the support person to give to all my friends, to warn them NOT to use Norton.

Wow Jim, that’s an unfortunate story. Luckily there are many high quality options for security software out there, at least Norton isn’t the only game in town.
