Digital Camera Printers

Cameras

Digital camera printers are a relatively new phenomenon, but they are growing in popularity. They are convenient, cost effective, and most of all, they can print out your digital photos just as well as your local photo lab. In short, digital camera printers have arrived and they are here to stay.

Digital camera printers are simply devices where you can hook up your digital camera to directly and print out your photos without having to mess with editing on a PC. It is extremely convenient to just plug your camera in and print out photos. What normally would be a very annoying task, has now become quite easy.

The cost per print for these printers can be quite competitive too. Many digital camera printers offer a per-photo cost of around 20 cents or less. It’s not perhaps the cheapest option out there, but it’s priced competitively and it’s very convenient. You don’t have to upload photos, pick the ones you like best, then wait for Snapfish or wherever you have them printed to mail them to you or have them ready for pickup at your local store.

The best part of the digital camera printer revolution is that it finally has forced two things to happen. One, the photo paper to print your photos on is now a lot more affordable due to the increased efficiencies of a higher supply and demand. Two, 4×6 digital photo printing is now becoming a standard option on most printers you buy. That means you can now buy a normal printer that will print your digital photos on photo paper and they look beautiful, just like they should. Again, some even can work directly with either your digital camera or your memory cards to print directly without having to fuss with a computer.

Of course, digital camera printers merging with normal, all-in-one printers is inevitable. The functionality in a little digital camera printer is something that can be easily replicated and sold at a lower cost. My personal favorite printers to print shots from my digital camera are the KODAK EasyShare all-in-one multifunction printers. If you buy the digital photo kits with ink and photo paper together at your local Wal-Mart or other major retailer, it’s usually about 14 cents a print.  If you want to print your digital photos at home, it’s the best way to go for sure.
