In the early 1960s, airline headsets were so large and clunky, that many pilots had switched back to the use of handheld microphones for communications. In 1961, United States solicited new designs from anyone who was interested. Courtney Graham, a United Airline pilot, was one of the many who thought the heavy headsets should be replaced by something lighter. He collaborated with his pilot friend, Keith Larkin, to create a small, functional design which was robust enough to pass airlines standards. The final design, incorporating two small hearing-aid-style transducers attached to a headband was submitted to United Airline approval. Nowadays, headsets are not just for aircraft, they could be used at work or for mobile phone as long as its compatible with your device. People who has their own Bluetooth headsets are most likely to function well instead of using their phones at their palms, safety also comes in as one of the advantages of using Bluetooth headsets especially when driving. For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. It’s comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics’ exclusive Multipoint technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices. With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset’s “smart” technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You’ll never need to use a dedicated “landline” phone headset again. It also features a noise-canceling microphone for clearer conversations, and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from Wi-Fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you’ll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. |

Actual Customer Feedback: "This is one of the best bluetooth I have ever used. It can be used for the many hours and very clear in sound. I have used other plantronics, but this model seems to be a fit for me. " -Customer Review on Amazon.com "This headset has very good sound, but is hard to put on though once on, stays put pretty well. The on/off button is incredibly small" -Customer Review on Amazon.com "I purchased this based on other reviews. One stated that they forget it was on their ear, I have to agree with this. I have found myself driving and then realizing that I never took it off after my last phone call. This has happened repeatedly. People understand me when I am calling from my car, and most important, I can hear them. I even had to turn down the volume on my phone. My last BT was a good model from a name brand, but was always frustrating to use. Don't let the size of this fool you, it is great!" -Customer Review on Amazon.com "I have been using bluetooth devices over the past 4 years and have owned several devices. This is the second 510 I have purchased due to the clairity and durability of the product. I also have a hard time keeping other devices on my ear and the wrap around design is what I have found works best for me. The only draw back is the bulk or thickness of the base but worth the trade off." -Customer Review on Amazon.com "I have to agree with the majority of previous reviewers, the headset is very good. Good audio quality on both ends and comfortable to wear ALMOST all day long!" -Customer Review on Amazon.com Most customer are so amazed of this light-weight, small-sized Bluetooth Headset from Plantronics. It gives clear sound and the person you are talking to can hear you loud and clear as well. While most people who drive and talk at the same time, they usually remove their headsets after every call, however with Plantronics Voyager 510 headset, you wouldn't even notice that i has been aroung your ear for almost the whole day. |
